Senior Software Engineer - Web Developer

Job Description:

We're looking to expand our team with an individual that is going to help us create engaging and effective user interfaces that provide a "wow" user experience. We're looking for an individual that has experience creating user interfaces for browser based software, has ideas about what makes a "wow" user experience, and is in tune with current user interface trends. In order to fit into our environment, the individual we're looking for will need to be self-motivated, able to think strategically, have great analytical and problem solving skills, and a strong desire to continually learn and expand their knowledge.
Job Responsibilities
- Design Web Application User Interfaces: Candidate will develop user interface design ideas using mock-ups, wire-frames, and screen flow diagrams. The candidate will also need to ensure the consistency of the user interface (and adherence to the standards) throughout the product(s). The candidate will also need to evaluate emerging user interface trends, tools, and technologies
- Implement Web Application User Interfaces: Candidate will translate user interface design ideas into working software. The software must provide a consistent user experience in all the popular browsers including: Internet Explorer, Firefox, and Safari.
- Work with User Experience and Engineering teams to define, maintain, implement, and enforce style guides, standards, reusable components, and best practices for client-side coding
- Optimize performance of client-side code taking into account issues of page weight, complexity, SEO, user perception, and other effects
- Monitor best practices, trends and new technologies and evaluate for possible adoption
- Assist development teams with client-side coding and bug fixing as needed
- Use agile / Scrum processes for development. Adhere to a high level of testing.
- Work closely with software developers in integrating web interfaces with server side code Skills Required
- Strong HTML, CSS, JavaScript including DHTML, JSON, and other "web 2.0" client-side technologies
- Moderate knowledge of Ajax, XML (+XHTML), XPath, XSLT
- Ability to design usable, intuitive web interfaces based on customer requirements and graphic mock-ups
- Excellent communication (verbal and written)and interpersonal skills
- Ability to develop user interfaces utilizing best practice UI design principles, object-oriented program development and industry standard UI patterns
- Ability to learn and adapt quickly in a dynamic environment
- Be thorough, focused, proactive, articulate, well-presented, and confident
- Be knowledgeable about what constitutes clean and innovative design
- Have a great attention to detail Nice to have
- A familiarity with the principles of Usability and Human Interface Design
- A familiarity with the .Net environment and Visual Studio
- A familiarity with Java or similar (C#, C++)
- Familiarity with rich client technologies such as Flash, Flex or Silverlight
- Familiarity with unit testing techniques for UIs
- Experience working with Photoshop or Illustrator Experience
- Should have 4 to 7 years of experience designing and implementing rich web interfaces
- Bachelor of Science in a technology-related field (or equivalent job experience).
- Evaluation and selection of UI frameworks and technologies
- Implementing robust UI components for use across multiple products
- Developing visual style guides and visual assets is a plus
- Exposed to enterprise web application design
- Exposed to server-side web technologies such as Servlets, JSP, Spring
